Bayo Adegbe | CEO/Modela Couture
Born in lagos, Nigeria and graduated from Sciences at the Lagos state University. Bayo is a model cum Modeling Instructor, Scout, Agent/Manager, Make-up Artist, show Choreographer and Designer. Although he studied sciences, he has been a frontline Modeling Agent and Make-up Artist, trained over sixty percent of the fashion Models in Nigeria. Though he intended to be a Medical doctor, his creative side has always triumphed, he has designed costumes for beauty contestants, models etc. over the years. He believes that the good physique of a model is a good inspiration for a good design. Bayo studied Fashion at Nobel training institute between 1996 and 1997 in order to learn the basics of professional cut and sew, Obtained a diploma in modeling/model management from Fawaz Training institute, State Make-up and wardrobe at ITPAN Training Institute, Gbagada, Lagos. Self-Sponsored Modela Agency/Couture Fashion started in 2001 with about sixty models. He established Modela Couture as a business in 2004 after winning Nigeria Designer of the year contest at the first attempt. He is awarded by several international magazine and local magazine as one of the most original and creative new African designer with unbelievable detail. He is the benchmark Nigerian Haute couture designs and inspiration to other couture design.

RWANDA FASHION FESTIVAL

Rwanda-A land of a thousand hills,lakes and mountains has a lot of tourism potentials/arrivals
Karibu!The country has a lot of tropical rain forest which has been turned to tourism assest.Popular among them are Nyungwe forest,which is turned to National park.It is located in the south of Rwanda and boardering Burundi.It covers an area of 1600 metre to nearly 3000 m above the sea level.It is arguably the largest foreign national park in all of Africa
Rwanda is renowned with its mountain gorilla.There are other parks which include
1.Volcanoes National park
2.Akagera National park
3.Matare game reserve
Rwanda is divided into provinces

The Rwanda fashion festival which theme was IMAGE AND CREATIVITY brings great talented,upcoming African designs in Africa in dia spora together to celebrate creativity and embrace great ethnic/Afro contemporary touch.It is to expand the African fashion industry.
Many designers who came wants to project and promote their work all over Africa and beyond.
What is synonymous with all the designers is high taste,individuality,colours and expression which are in high taste.All the audience agreed at the end of the show that Rwanda fashion festival is actually ashow of elegance and creativity.
It is seen in the show that everyone is keeping with international trend in silhouette,look,cut and design.
Rwanda fashion festival 2011 was a 2 day event.The first day event on the 30th March show from 8pm to midnight was held at Lemigo Hotel,Kigali which are:

The main event called the defile de mode international fashion award gala nite was held on 01/04/2011 by 7pm till midnight was held at theserena Hotel.

The presentation by Modela couture at Rwandan fashion festival 2011 was presented amidst loud ovation by the audience who wanted more after the presentation of the collection.The pieces were mind blowing and as usual-master pieces collection.
The black /white/cream 2011 modela couture collection was inspired by the synergy between nature and the mythology of the sea mermaid and sea life that are covered with different sizes of scales which cannot be over emphasized.The effect is arresting compellingly stylish,glamourous and unique.
They are outfits pieces specially and painstaking arranged timeless dresses made with compromise of effort,source of fish scales,hand sewn on all outfits from short skirts,long skirts.

A cut skirts,flair cut skirts,long bustier dresses,short bustier dresses,bustier tops,bustier blouses,bra top,assymerical cut bustier dresses etc.All with fabrics of black such as satin,leather,fur,silk,cotton,tefetta,lycra,lace,jeans,fish net,zebra print and other prints,brocade etc.
Then the look of the men in long sleeve,well tailored 3 pieces black satin suits with cream sponge,fish scales,well arranged details.Also the Tarzan look in beaded with cream sponge and fish scales details with head pieces.
DIVINE Design-Mme DaBire Martine-Ouagadougou/Burkinafaso/Senegal
Design and showcased a matured and classic collection in variety of bright colours of chosen fabrics in satin,shiffon,silk and lace and few prints with embellishments with stones sequinns etc.They are wearable pieces she sold out at the end of the event.There are pinks,blue,green,orange and red etc.
DADY de Maximo: President of the Rwanda fashion festival.He was last to showcase and started his showcase with avant garge collection then wearable in black and fussia pink.they are mouth opening collections. The silhoettes are volumes with men in the floor lengths flair skirt with raffia,sack and cotton inspired mixes which got alot of noise from the audience.They are ethnic pieces showing Africa and saying alot about Africa.Then the black satin pieces and pinks for both male and female.They are wearable well made and open for comment.
This collection closes the curtain for 2011Rwanda fashion festival.
THE HOUSE OF LAKE VICTORIA by ACHIENG OCHIENG
Inspiration for her collection at the Rwanda fashion festival was inspired by the abundance of the water hyacinth on the lake victoria which chokes a lot of life in the water and i wish the government could do a lot with it for posterity.It can be used for a lot of things such as accesories etc
She made short dresses in jeans,cotton,brocade and use the water hyacinth as accesory to make them outstanding.
EARTH AND WATER by NKATHAT KINKI
Showcased a strong collection inspired by the water lily.She made a water lily dress using recycled polythene and silver packaging material to throw light on it.She used recycled gold material as well as ecologically friendly materials.She made use of green and silver to depict water and life.
She made use of materials gold tafetta,silk with chiffon.She loves flowing fabrics most especially the silk which flows gracefully .
RIALTO by LUCY-KENYA
Showcased pieces inspired by the massai people of Kenya.The are strong warriors with strong history and background.They live on the mountains,great weaves of massai fabric,great beaders of the massai art and craft with well known massai neck piecec,handbands.
Their make up and total look is awesome.She used the fabrics of the massai and their accessories for the show really colourful and breathtaking.
DIO ALI-Senegal but worksfrom Cameroun.Showcased highly glamourous dresses in orange,black and gold with finished beautifully with crystals and stones in gold.He made use of shiffon organza,orange mercury,tafetta,satin,velvet to make wearable couture dresses for both male and female.They are red carpet dresses.
IMANE AYISSI-CAMEROUN/FRANCE
Designera with a flow of 2 background as a model,designers,dancer from Africa and lives presently in France reflects in his work.He choses colours annually to project his work in this 2011 collection presented in Kigali-Rwanda fashion festival 2011.He presented all his pieces in black wearable couture pieces that are very outstanding and higly fashionable.
